Ingredients Needed to Make Rujak Serut:

Assorted fresh seasonal fruits, such as pineapples, apples, pears, strawberries, kiwis, mangoes, papayas, and red sweet potatoes, with a total weight of approximately 1.5 kg.

  • 2 red peppers and bird's eye chilies, according to your level of spiciness preference.
  • 8 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar.
  • 750 grams of brown sugar.
  • 2 tablespoons of salt.
  • 1 liter of water.

Steps for Making Rujak Serut:

  1. Begin by blending the red peppers and bird's eye chilies. Mix this blend with other ingredients, such as apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, salt, and water. Simmer this mixture until boiling for about 40 minutes, then let it cool.
  2. When the seasoning is cooked, let it cool completely. Meanwhile, prepare the fruits that will be used. Grate or finely chop all fruits, except for strawberries and pineapples.
  3. After the seasoning has cooled, mix it with all the prepared fruits. Store this mixture in the fridge overnight before serving.
