28 Indonesian Billionaires Make Forbes 2025 List of the World’s Richest

BLOGSIA.EU.ORG - A total of 28 Indonesian tycoons have secured their spots on Forbes’ 2025 World’s Billionaires List, showcasing the country's growing influence in the global economy. The list, updated in real-time by Forbes, includes entrepreneurs across various sectors such as coal, banking, telecommunications, and manufacturing.

According to kompas.com (17/04/2025), Low Tuck Kwong, founder and president director of coal giant Bayan Resources, has once again emerged as the richest Indonesian on the global stage. As of April 17, 2025, his net worth stands at $26.7 billion, placing him at the 68th spot globally. Despite a slight dip from $27.3 billion earlier in April, his global ranking has improved from 72nd to 68th, signaling his continued dominance in the energy sector.

Close behind are the Hartono brothers—R. Budi Hartono and Michael Hartono—heirs to the Djarum Group empire. R. Budi Hartono ranks second in Indonesia with a fortune of $20.6 billion (96th globally), followed by Michael Hartono with $19.8 billion (97th globally). The siblings have long maintained their stature in the elite ranks thanks to their diversified investments in banking (Bank Central Asia) and tobacco.

In fourth place is Prajogo Pangestu, the founder of Barito Pacific, with a net worth of $16.8 billion and a global rank of 123. Meanwhile, Sri Prakash Lohia, head of Indorama Corporation—known for its global footprint in the textile and petrochemical industry—rounds out the top five with $8.3 billion, placing him 350th worldwide.

The complete list reflects a wide spectrum of industries contributing to Indonesia’s wealth landscape. Otto Toto Sugiri, a major player in the data center industry, ranks 6th in Indonesia and 504th globally with $6.6 billion. Other notable figures include philanthropist and Mayapada Group founder Tahir & family ($5.0 billion), and tech entrepreneur Marina Budiman ($4.7 billion), who stands out as one of the wealthiest women in the country.

Newer names such as film producer Manoj Punjabi ($1.0 billion, ranked 2942 globally) and digital infrastructure magnate Alexander Ramlie ($2.0 billion, ranked 1807 globally) also show how diversified the country’s billionaire class has become.
